ABOUT

I’m Nicholas Kingman, and I’m passionate about engineering and improving the operational efficiency of amusement parks. My journey has been driven by a curiosity to understand how systems work and how they can be optimized to create better experiences for both guests and operators.

As a student engineer, I’m particularly interested in how engineering solutions can enhance ride operations, improve safety, and streamline the guest experience. Whether it’s reducing wait times, optimizing ride throughput, or implementing new technologies, I want to find ways to make amusement parks more efficient and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Through my internship in ride operations at Busch Gardens, I gained firsthand experience in balancing operational efficiency with guest satisfaction. Additionally, my time as an IAAPA Safety and Public Affairs Intern gave me valuable insight into the broader industry standards and safety considerations that shape theme park operations. These experiences have deepened my passion for applying engineering to create smoother, safer, and more innovative park systems that not only enhance operational performance but also ensure every guest has an unforgettable experience.

Outside of my studies, I’m always exploring parks and analyzing how they operate, from ride mechanics to guest flow. I’m fascinated by the technology and systems that power these experiences and eager to apply what I’ve learned to contribute to the future of theme parks.

In my future career, I’m excited to use my skills in engineering to optimize park operations, enhance safety, and make sure that visitors have the best experience possible, all while keeping things running efficiently behind the scenes.
